Stephanie Petter Garrett Immersing myself in nature, spending time on and around the water, and traveling as many back roads as possible have long been things that fill my soul with joy and peace. Capturing the emotion of a moment or area gives me great satisfaction, and I have long desired to create work that reflects what I feel during those times. As I approached retirement, I decided it was time to 'go public' and put myself out there and see what happened. A friend gave me a card with the quote, 'You are never given a wish without also being given the power to make it true.' (Richard Bach); another gave me a tile that said, 'Don't call it a dream, call it a plan'; and then there was the fortune cookie that said, 'You don't become a failure until you are satisfied with being one.'... Inspiration and no excuses! I was fortunate enough to rent gallery space in the small town where I live and the feedback I received and sales inspired me to pursue my passion further via Fine Art America. All my work is based on photographs and I like the challenge of creating a mood or feel through artistic modification. The dream has become a plan!
